With reference to paragraph 2 of my circular

despatch of the 12th August, 1936, regarding the

King George's Memorial Fields, I have the honour to

furnish you with the following information regarding the

King George's Fields Foundation which may be of interest

to Colonial Governments.

2. The Foundation is the Trust that has been

established to give effect to the decision to provide

recreational playing-fields as part of the National

Memorial to King George V. Under the terms of its

Trust Deed the Foundation's financial powers are limited

to the United Kingdom, within which area its operations

include the establishment of memorial playing-fields

styled "King George's Fields"; architectural advice on

designs for memorial entrances for such fields; and the

supply to each approved "King George's'Field", for

incorporation in the entrance design, of a pair of

Heraldic Panels portraying the Royal Lion with the

inscription "George V 1910-1936", and the Unicorn with

the inscription "King George's Field".

3. Although financial assistance cannot be given

by the Foundation to schemes outside the United Kingdom,

His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to

authorize the use of the designs of the Heraldic Panels
